Interior Colour Trends Predictions for 2026

At Feather & Grey Interiors, we continually track emerging colour trends to help guide and inspire our clients.

As we head into 2026, interior colour trends appear to be evolving toward depth and warmth, a shift towards how we want our homes to feel as much as how they look. Across leading design publications, paint brands and textile forecasters, there’s a clear shift away from overly cool minimalism toward richer palettes, grounded neutrals and natural influences.

What Are The Interior Colour Trends For 2026?

One of the strongest themes for 2026 is warm, grounding colours. Designers and paint brands alike are championing richer tonalities that feel more comforting and lived-in.

Ideal Home have predicted that dark reds and burgundies will be taking to the stage in 2026 showcasing deep cherry, plum and Bordeaux hues which add depth and sophistication to the room, perfectly suiting a living area, dining room or bedroom. These dramatic tones pair beautifully with soft furnishings such as velvet curtains, heavier linen blends or textured Roman blinds, which help to soften the intensity of the colour while enhancing its richness. Romo’s stunning velvety Forenza fabric in Bayberry or Villa Nova’s velvet Barcelona in Redcurrant would be a great choice if you are looking to introduce this into your home Ruth Mottershead of the popular paint brand Little Greene, noted that in 2026 there is likely to be a natural progression in the use of burgundy in interior design as their customers are demonstrating more colour confidence in their homes.

Within this category, earthy brown shades were also common in 2025 and are expected to pull through to 2026 according to Cathryn Sanders, head of creative at Earthborn, “as they help to create an atmosphere that feels grounded, warm and restorative". If you are looking to add these shades into your home, Zinc’s Holbox Moss fabric from their Dieter Vander Velpen Linen collection or Villa Nova’s Havana linen fabric in Basket would be a great fit.

Warm neutrals are also expected to feature strongly, with tones like oatmeal pairing effortlessly with rich browns and burgundy to deepen an earthy interior, while also sitting comfortably alongside warm whites for a serene, balanced feel. These softer tones lend themselves beautifully to white or off-white shutters, sheer curtains or understated Roman blinds, creating a calm, balanced backdrop that allows colour and texture elsewhere in the room to shine.

Deep Blues and Greens: Calm, Yet Statement-Making

Alongside warm colours, deeper jewel tones—especially blues and greens—are forecasted to shape interiors in 2026.

Tones such as “Midnight Blue” are helping homeowners create a feeling of calm and optimism according to Sue Kim, director of colour marketing at Valspar. When selecting window stylings to complement this shade, fabrics featuring subtle metallic threads or finishes paired with brass or bronze hardware—such as shutter hinges or curtain trimmings—introduce warmth and refinement, ensuring the blue never feels overly cool or heavy.

Ian Mankin have also recently launched their new Earthlight collection and their Hedgerow Herringbone Fabric in Wild Blueberry would be an ideal choice if you are looking to add this tone into your home.

Etsy have also recently revealed their Colour of The Year as Patina Blue, a blue-green colour which has been inspired by the way copper naturally ages. With a growing desire for interiors that feel lived-in rather than pristine, Etsy reports a significant rise in searches for “blue copper” over the past year, leading to its selection of this blue-green hue as their Colour of the Year. If this shade appeals to you, consider pairing it with dark blue window stylings, such as shutters, as the contrast with a softer blue-green hue creates a beautifully layered palette that feels both cohesive and calming. Alternatively, you could use a fabric that combines all these tones into a beautiful pattern such as Villa Nova’s decorative woven fabric Hana in Kicho Teal which would look great on a Roman blind.

Soft Neutrals & Calming Whites

While saturated tones are key, there’s also a notable move toward calm, grounding neutrals. It has recently been announced that Pantones Colour of The Year has been named as Cloud Dancer, a soft, airy off-white with subtle warm undertones that give it a gentle, calming presence. With its ability to sit comfortably alongside rich browns, burgundies and deep blues, this off-white, or similar, is a great choice for window stylings to break up the darker tones.

The London College of Style has also included a Creamy White in their interior colour trend report for 2026. Similar to Pantones Cloud Dancer, this tone has some warmth which they have described as “taking the edge off stark contemporary spaces”.

At Feather and Grey Interiors, we offer a selection of neutral shutter shades ranging from vivid white to creamy, warm off-whites, making it easy to echo this trend in a way that feels both contemporary and timeless.

If looking at blinds or curtains, these tones are also ideal for introducing texture into your window stylings. Woven fabrics or linen, such as Romo’s Osumi in Jasmine or Linara Antique White, blend warm white and oatmeal tones to create a beautifully warming finish which look great on Roman blinds or curtains. Hedgerow Herringbone Fabric in Chanterelle from Ian Mankin's recently launched Earthlight collection would also be a perfect choice. If you are looking for a little texture as well, Iliv’s Monterey Stone offers just this, a cosy neutral tone in a beautiful chenille fabric.

Sheer curtains in soft neutral tones are another elegant way to bring warmth into your interiors. Fabrics like Villa Nova’s Mazu Birch add gentle texture without feeling heavy or bulky, creating a natural, calming atmosphere in any room.

From grounding earthy neutrals and rich jewel tones to soft off-whites and calming blues, these palettes offer endless opportunities to create spaces that feel both sophisticated, inviting as well as cosy and lived in. At Feather & Grey Interiors, we combine our knowledge of colour trends with our bespoke window styling expertise to help clients select fabrics, finishes and designs that perfectly complement their chosen palette. Whether it’s luxurious velvet curtains, textured Roman blinds, or airy sheers, the right window stylings can bring colour, texture and cohesion to a room—making a house feel truly like a home. We are also continuously looking at and refreshing our fabric book collections to reflect the trends to ensure we give our customers the best range of choice for their home.
